Updated this wordpress

Today (well, it’s still night here… woke up way too early) I updated the wordpress installation to the latest. About time to do it, the old installation was outdated and not safe anymore.

Hope you enjoy it. :-)

Moving to subversion

Right now I’m moving the source code of JWebcam over to Subversion. I feel more comfortable with Svn under the hood.

Back?

Well, not yet. ;-)

I lost track of this project, but I really want to push it again. I need to get back to the evening coding sessions and try the Java Media Framework on my Macbook, to get access to the microphone and the buildin webcam .

But before I get back into coding I have to update this wordpress and my sourceforge things. Hope to get it done this week.

First FTP upload ever!

Today was a good day for JWebcam. I finally got back into development after a few lazy weeks. I managed to include a 3rd party library that provides a good FTP access: edtftp With this library I added the functionality to upload captured images to an FTP server to JWebcam. Finally, the program is usable to upload your webcam pictures! :-) And here it is:

Excuse the mess behind me, but I don’t have much room. And I didn’t expect JWebcam to upload this picture. But hey, it uploaded it anyway! ;-) There are some options missing in the preferences dialog. You can’t set the capture interval yet, but I will finish the GUI soon.

First release: SimpleClient 20070814

Today I packed the first release of SimpleClient, the basic webcam client provided by JWebcam. It is a WINDOW ONLY release, the necessary library files for Linux are still missing. There is a SimpleClient.bat that you can start and the client will show up with a lot of messages on the DOS window. You can download it on our project page.

This release is just a development snapshot, there is no real functionality in it. You can not yet upload to FTP with this application. You can switch the capture device, you can set a time stamp and you can save the image to a local file called tmpcam.png in the same directory.

If you like to check the client, please provide some feedback here on the blog, on our forums or on the bug tracker.
